Hope to overturn Roe v Wade

Pray for Dobbs

The Women’s Health Protection Act is a sign of the unease among the pro-abortion forces with the recent pro-life victories in Texas and upcoming Dobbs vs Jackson decision at the US Supreme Court which will determine whether or not a law banning abortion after 15 weeks in Mississippi will stand. 

This decision could potentially overturn Roe v Wade and Planned Parenthood vs Casey and increase protection for the unborn in the United States.
Oral arguments in the case have been scheduled for December 1, 2021 and a decision is expected by June 2022. For an excellent analysis of the case, see Ed Bechmann’s blogpost. 

This is a critical moment in the pro-life movement, and we must respond with prayer, fasting, and witness. Please stay tuned for more information about a dedicated campaign of prayer and fasting for the Supreme Court during the coming months as we await the outcome of the momentous decision.

The Church of the Immaculate Conception in Stony Point (26 John Street) will be holding SUNDAY EVENING FOR LIFE on each of the Sundays during October (3,10,17,24,31). Starting at 6 PM.

The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed in the Main Church, followed by a period of silent prayer. We will then recite the Rosary and conclude with Benediction. All for the protection of the lives of those least capable of protecting themselves – the unborn and the elderly. Everyone is welcome
