The Concert for Life is an annual event produced by Eileen Peterson. It features local performers who donate their talents to raise money for the Good Counsel Homes in Spring Valley, a home offering not only food and shelter, but love and direction for single mothers and their babies in dire need.

Good Counsel has served more than 6,000 mothers and children since it was founded in 1985.

Co-founder and  Executive Director Chris Bell presented this year’s award to Sr. Nancy and thanked her for her work. He also noted the importance that everyone become part of the “life chain,”  ready to spread the word about Good Counsel’s services and pass on a flyer or the  phone number that could be a lifeline to a pregnant woman in crisis. (The Good Counsel hot line for anyone who is pregnant and needs help is 800-723-8331).

The show was hosted by Steve Possell of WRCR AM 1700‘s “Steve and Meredyth Morning show.”

The performers were the  St. Joseph’s Regional High School/Broadway Theater Workshop from Montvale, N.J., the Junior Jammers and No Boundaries from St. Peter’s/St. Mary’s in Haverstraw, Monica Peterson St. John, and the Albertus Magnus Veritas Honor Choir led by Nadia Rizzo.
