In a 52-47 vote, the U.S. Senate approved H.R. 3762, a bill that will block 89% ($400 million) of federal funding to Planned Parenthood next year.
The “Restoring America’s Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act” also dismantled several provisions of Obamacare. All senatorial presidential contenders, Marco Rubio (Fla.), Rand Paul (Ky.). Lyndsey Graham (S.C.) and Ted Cruz (Texas) voted for passage of the bill.
The two senators for New York, democrats Kirsten Gillibrand and Chuck Schumer, voted against the bill.
President Obama has already stated his intention to veto the Act. For more on this story, click here.
