Assemblyman Steve Katz (R-Yorktown) has introduced legislation that would prohibit state funding of Planned Parenthood in New York. The bill was moved to the Assembly Health Committee last week.

The bill (A09061) memo states “Using taxpayer dollars to support procedures residents may or may not support is an irresponsible use of taxpayer dollars. At a time when New York is desperately trying to revive its economy there are much better areas for hard earned taxpayer dollars to be used.”
