Praying for the Election

These mid-term elections are critical for the pro-life effort in this post-Dobbs world. Your vote matters. Here in New York, we will elect those who make decisions on critical issues such as assisted suicide and the future of pro-life pregnancy centers.

On behalf of the USCCB, Archbishop Lori’s has called out President Biden‘s commitment to codify a national right to abortion after the election: “The President is gravely wrong to continue to seek every possible avenue to facilitate abortion, instead of using his power to increase support and care to mothers in challenging situations…” (read the rest of the statement)

Please also keep in prayer important elections throughout the country.

Several states have important abortion related constitutional amendments on the ballot for Nov 8. Check out this site for an updated map of the latest abortion restrictions throughout the US post-Dobbs.

NYS Right to Life PAC Endorses Trump for President

Press release from the New York State Right to Life Political Action Committee:

The New York State Right to Life Committee PAC is supporting Donald Trump for President of the United States in the 2016 election.

Mr. Trump has met the criteria of the PAC on the life issues and he is running a serious campaign.

He has also said he will appoint prolife judges to the Supreme Court and will not approve funding for Planned Parenthood as long as they are in the abortion business.

His opponent, Hillary Rodham Clinton is a strong proponent of abortion through all nine months of pregnancy. She supports Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the United States, and encourages efforts at the United Nations to make abortion a fundamental human right throughout the world..

In an article that appeared in the Washington Examiner a few months ago, Donald Trump said, “The next president must follow those principles that work best and that reinforce the reverence Americans hold for life. . . . it is by preserving our culture of life that we will Make America Great Again.”

Christie: Abortion for Rape/Incest May Be Self Defense

What?? Heaven help us!

From the Daily Caller, online news publication:

“At a campaign stop in Manchester, New Hampshire, Monday, [Republican presidential candidate] Chris Christie said that abortion “can be an act of self-defense” and explained how that belief can still be consistent with a pro-life stance.

Update (2/10/16): Chris Christie has dropped out of the presidential race.

Call to Stop GOP Attacks on Prolife Stance of Cruz, Rubio

From the prolife lobbying group, Susan B. Anthony List:

I think you’ll also be interested in reading this letter Marjorie [Dannenfelser, president of SBA List] sent to all Republican presidential campaignsAs you may have seen in the news, some campaigns and their supporters have been attacking Sens. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio for supposedly being “too pro-life” to win. Marjorie has called for an immediate end to these outrageous attacks – which are essentially the talking points of Planned Parenthood!

As Marjorie explains in the letter, “an attack on [these] candidates’ pro-life positions is an attack on the pro-life movement as a whole.” (I encourage you to read the letter linked above. You can also read stories about the matter from PoliticoCNN, and The Weekly Standard).
