Knights Share Christmas Spirit

Santa Claus was a welcome guest at the McCloskey #4565 Council of the Knights of Columbus’ Christmas party.

At their annual Christmas parties, two Rockland councils of the Knights of Columbus — Triune Council #2052 in Pearl River and  John Cardinal McCloskey 4565 in West Nyack —  continued their holiday tradition of presenting prolife and other charities with donations to support their good works.

Among the local prolife groups receiving gifts from the Knights were the Rockland Right to Life Committee, Birthright of Rockland,  Good Counsel Homes in Spring Valley, and the Sisters of Life. Continue reading

Progress at Sisters of Life Motherhouse

Volunteer workers' cars fill the parking lot of the Sisters of Life Motherhouse.

For five months, volunteer carpenters, electricians, and general workers have been busy  transforming the old Marydell convent on Montebello Road in Suffern into the new Motherhouse for the Sisters of Life.

Sister Dorothy Guadalupe told visitors from the Rockland Right to Life Commitee that the chapel should be completed by the end of January.  Please click on the link below for more photos of the renovation in progress. Continue reading

Sisters of Life Moving To Rockland

The Sisters of Life at the Rockland County Life Chain in Nanuet

The Sisters of Life are preparing to move into Rockland County — to a convent in Montebello which will become their new motherhouse.

We in Rockland are truly blessed to have the Sisters of Life coming to live among us.

There is much work to be done throughout the convent building and grounds. The Sisters will be repairing plaster and painting from water damage, designing and finishing two chapels, installing almost 100 light fixtures…and doing a lot of basic clean-up! Continue reading
