Sisters of Life Moving To Rockland

The Sisters of Life at the Rockland County Life Chain in Nanuet

The Sisters of Life are preparing to move into Rockland County — to a convent in Montebello which will become their new motherhouse.

We in Rockland are truly blessed to have the Sisters of Life coming to live among us.

There is much work to be done throughout the convent building and grounds. The Sisters will be repairing plaster and painting from water damage, designing and finishing two chapels, installing almost 100 light fixtures…and doing a lot of basic clean-up! Continue reading

Right to Life Victors Heading to Congress

As winners of special elections held yesterday, two Republicans will be heading to Washington to claim their seats in Congress: two more votes in opposition to abortion, taxpayer funding of abortion, and pro-abortion healthcare.

One, I’m sure you know, is pro-life Republican Bob Turner, who will replace Democrat Anthony Weiner in representing the 9th Congressional District in Brooklyn and Queens. This is the same district that also gave us Geraldine Ferraro and  Chuck Schumer, and went 55% for Barack Obama in 2008.

The other is congressman-elect is Mark Amodei, who will represent the 2nd Congressional District in Nevada.

Both candidates were endorsed by the National Right to Life Political Action Committee.

Here’s a short article from National Right to Life News Today about the election and what it means for us.

Everyone Welcome — Good Counsel’s Open House & Barbecue

At last year's Barbecue/Open House

Good Counsel’s Cardinal Cooke Home in Spring Valley invites you to drop in on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 2 pm to 4 pm. There will be tours of the home and chance to meet the staff and the moms and babies who are currently staying there — plus a fun barbecue in the backyard with hot dogs and hamburgers and all your picnic favorites like watermelon and ice cream.

Bring your family. It’s a wonderful opportunity to show the kids how we can help homeless mothers and give their babies a good start in life. True pro-life work!

We’re Back!

Hi, RocklandRTL.org  is back up and running!

We have to apologize. If you’ve visited our website for the past few months, we’re afraid you didn’t  find anything new there.

Now, we’ve redesigned the site using a blog model that will be much easier to keep up to date. And that’s what we intend to do — provide a venue where we can share thoughts, news, and support each others’ efforts to defend the right to life for the unborn, aged, handicapped wherever it may be threatened.

You can help us!  Please read this. And send the link to our website to whomever you can think of:  http://www.RocklandRTL.org

Thank you very much!

On the Front Lines

Even though the next 40 Days of Life won’t officially start until Sept. 28,  the prayer warriors have been coming throughout the summer to the Planned Parenthood site on Perlman Drive in Spring Valley to pray for the conversion of the hearts of those who work at this facility and that young people will be protected from the indoctrination of this multi-billion dollar industry that is constantly recruiting more customers for their contraception and chemical abortions.

Please prayerfully consider taking an hour at the next 40 Days of Life, which will be held from Sept. 28 through Nov. 6.
